Parkside Restaurant, located Downtown Raleigh, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cook to join our team. With this second location recently opened, we are excited to expand our culinary excellence and bring our delicious food and hospitality to the Wendell community.

Main Responsibilities of a Cook:

• Preparing workstations, cooking ingredients, and kitchen equipment for cooking.
• Cooking and arranging food.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced cook to fill a vacant spot in our kitchen staff and contribute to the overall excellence of our restaurant. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, organized, and creative cook who can work well as part of a team. Your role will involve following instructions and helping us delight our customers with delicious food from our menu. In addition to your cooking prowess, excellent communication and organizational skills are paramount.

A good candidate for this job is someone with attention to detail who can keep the kitchen tidy and clean while preparing, cooking, and arranging food alongside the rest of our kitchen staff. We take pride in our exceptional service, and we expect nothing less from our cooks. Candidates with a diploma from a culinary school will be given preference.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a sanitized and well-organized kitchen.
• Preparing workstations for cooking.
• Preparing and maintaining kitchen equipment.
• Checking the quality of the ingredients.
• Preparing ingredients using various techniques.
• Cooking food using various culinary techniques.
• Arranging food and ensuring appealing presentation.
• Managing food storage, stock, and ingredient orders.

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience as a cook.
• Skilled in operating kitchen equipment.
• Skilled in various cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of and adherence to sanitation procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and act quickly.
• Ability to follow direction.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Weekend availability to work

The Past & The Future
Downtown Raleigh Restaurant located at the entrance of the Warehouse District, Parkside is situated on the corner of West Martin and South Dawson streets across from historic Nash Square. It was this urban park, one of the four original parks in downtown that inspired the name Parkside. Parkside Raleigh opened in August of 2016.
In August 2023, Parkside proudly opened a second location in the Wendell Falls community of Wendell NC. This growing community is slated as one of the fastest growing areas of Wake County and North Carolina. Parkside is excited to create a home here in Wendell Falls, where we can bring our food and hospitality to Wendell for years to come!
